The EDELNet Partnership is delighted to announce that we are inviting applications to the annual EDELNet LL.M. Summer School in Public International Law. The online phase of the program will start in spring 2025 and face-to-face final phase will take place from 14th to 18th July in Hamburg, Germany. As in previous years, 20 students from the FernUniversität Hagen (Germany), the Open Universiteit (Netherlands), UNED (Spain), Open University (UK) and the University of Wroclaw will meet at a wonderful location in the EU and have the opportunity to work together as international litigating teams in a moot court simulation designed to offer a high quality learning experience and an insight into real lawyering work. The University of Wrocław may nominate 4 students to participate in the Summer School.
In addition, participants will get a valuable chance to have a meaningful exchange with students and instructors from other European jurisdictions in an institutionally supportive and intellectually challenging environment. The programme begins with an online preparatory phase in April during which participants are expected to take a few short online courses. In the course of the programme you will receive well-structured and intensive training not only in legal matters, but also in soft skills such as academic debate, legal English, intercultural communication and team work.
Applicants are supposed to:
- be students of 2nd, 3rd or higher year of legal studies at the University of Wrocław,
- have a good command of English,
- and be able to discuss in that language key issues of Public International Law.
Students are expected to make their own accommodation and travel arrangements. Financial support supposed to be Short Erasmus Programme. In this very case overall scholarship amount is 704€ (at least). If participant is arriving to Hamburg on 13th of July, departing Hamburg on 19th of July and travelling by bus, train or a private car together with other participants from UWr then scholarship amount is 970€. Using Short Erasmus Programme has no impact upon chance of participation in other Erasmus schemes. Students who are not officially students of 2nd or higher year of studies cannot use Erasmus scholarship.
Applicants are requested to send application to an email michal.stepienuwr.edu.pl till 21st of February. Application should contain:
- short cover letter (at least 140 words) containing explanation which branch/issue of Public International Law is the most interesting for the applicant, and
- average grade certificate for the entire period of studies issued by the Dean’s Office.
