Dear Students!

It is my great pleasure to inform you that our University will soon host Massimo Foglia, a Research Fellow from University of Bergamo, Italy.

 

From 1.12. to 4.12. professor Massimo Foglia will hold lectures on Italian contract law and Italian law of torts.

 

The lectures will be held on the following days:

 

1. Tuesday (1.12): 11.30 - 13.00, room 403C

2. Wednesday (2.12): 17.00 - 18.30, room 07B and 18.45-20.15., room 06B

3. Friday (4.12): 11.30 - 13.30, room 201B

 

I kindly remind you that these lectures replace our regular meetings on Mondays. This means that our classes on the 30th of November and the 7th of December are cancelled.

Massimo Foglia – Short Resume

 

Massimo Foglia is a Research Fellow at University of Bergamo, Department of Law, and is admitted to practice in Italy as a Attorney-at-law. He is Associate of a German law firm «Pluta GmbH» in Milan.

 

His research expertise is in private law, particularly in the area of contract law, tortious liability and comparative law. He is currently working on a book in contract law (Il contratto autoregolato: le merger clauses, Giappichelli, Torino, under press).

 

Massimo is Ph.D. in European Private Law at the University of Padua. He has also studied in London (Institute of Advanced Legal Studies – University of London) and Germany (Max-Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law – Hamburg and Institut für ausländisches und internationales privat- und wirtschaftsrecht – University of Heidelberg).

 

He has been the winner of «2015 Edoardo Ruffini Prize», held by awarded by Accademia Nazionale dei Lincei on the subject of «To be born and to die: the legal problem of biotechnologies».

 

Massimo is also the contributor of several articles published in some of the most prestigious Italian Law reviews (Responsabilità Civile e Previdenza, Nuova Giurisprudenza Civile Commentata and Danno e responsabilità), specifically with particular reference to contract law and tortious liability.

 

He has been contributor of the Italian reports of two research projects (on Medical malpractice and on Employers’ liability and Workers’ compensation) promoted by the European Centre of Tort and Insurance Law (ECTIL).
