Seminarium "Humans and the Smart City" 27.11.2015 @ 1.15-14.45 p.m.

The Students' Scientific Group for Human Rights (Koło Naukowe Praw Człowieka) in collaboration with dr Anna Śledzińska-Simon would like to cordially invite you to a seminar "Humans and the Smart City" by Professor Frans Jorna.

The seminar will take place on November 27th, 2015 at 1.15-2.45 p.m. at the Department of Law, Administration and Economics, University of Wroclaw.

The seminar will focus on the concept of Smart City Ecosystems and fundamental public values in Smart City Governance. Professor Jorna will also present results and experiences from his fieldwork in the Netherlands. The partcipants are required to prepare the assigned readings attached to this invitation (article by Kudo&Granier and the chapter by Jorna&Veentra, pp. 140-147).

Prof.dr. Frans Jorna works as professor of Governance at Saxion University of Applied Sciences. To boot, he is an independent publicist and advisor on open data and smart city governance working with a dozen of Dutch city administrations, regional authorities as well as the Dutch ministery of the Interior (see for instance http://www.opengovpartnership.org/files/netherlandsenglishfinalpdf/download).

 

He specializes in e-Governance, open data, urban governance, smart cities and open governance. He worked as a professor of Governance at DWSSP 'Asesor' in Wroclaw between 2009 and 2011 and lectured European integration and social policy at Uniwersytet Wroclawski (European Studies) in 2010-2011. He studied at Uniwersytet Wroclawski between 1992-1994, has been coming back and studying/wrorking to this city ever since and is an all time affecionado of Wroclaw.
